Typhoon Crash!

On the 17th February 1944 during practice flying, Sgt Powell suffered an engine failure on approaching to land. However he was able to successfully crash-land his Typhoon (DP-K) in a field, short of the runway. We have updated the photo with today's view. Our thanks to the Bulleid Family for permission to use the original photo and to the owners of the field for allowing us to mark out the position for the update!
